Bruce’s approach to empowering clients in returning to work is to assist the injured worker by helping him or her move along the "Stages of Change" from unemployed to employed. Bruce is a strong worker-advocate and uses a client- centered B Solution-focused approach to help workers help themselves.
Bruce is a Counseling Psychologist at Schofield Barracks, providing direct services to Soldiers returning from Iraq and Afghanistan at the Army Substance Abuse Program (ASAP).
Bruce is a Hawaii State Licensed Mental Health Counselor and Certified Substance Abuse Counselor. Nationally, he is a Certified Rehabilitation Counselor. He is also a trained Group Facilitator. Among his work experiences are the following: Crisis Response Worker with Child Protective Services, Forensic Expert Witness providing testimony, Home-Based Therapist with families, Vocational Rehabilitation Counselor with the blind, and Substance Abuse Counselor with the mothers and children of addicts, and Host of "The Faces of Recovery" radio program."
